ABOUT AURORA

A space to understand yourself, and grow in your own way.

I believe meaningful change begins with curiosity — not with trying to fix who we are, but with gently understanding the experiences, emotions, and patterns that have shaped us.

MY APPROACH

Counselling as a curious exploration of your inner world

I see counselling as a curious exploration rather than a process of fixing what is wrong. Together, we slow down and become interested in your inner world — the emotions, patterns, beliefs, and ways of protecting yourself that have developed through your experiences.

Some of these patterns may have roots in adverse or difficult childhood experiences. They may once have helped you adapt, belong, stay safe, or meet the expectations around you, even if they now leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or hard on yourself.

My approach is experiential and IFS-informed. Rather than only talking about what is happening, we may gently explore what you notice in the present moment — your emotions, bodily experiences, and different inner responses — with curiosity and compassion. The intention is not to get rid of parts of yourself, but to understand them and create more space for new ways of relating to yourself and your life.

A SPACE TO GROW

You don’t need to become someone else.

Like a tree, each person carries an innate capacity for growth. Sometimes, difficult experiences, expectations, and ways of protecting ourselves can make it harder to grow freely. Counselling is not about turning you into someone different, but about gently understanding what may be getting in the way.

As we deepen the roots — through greater self-understanding, emotional awareness, self-care, and self-compassion — there can be more space to feel grounded within ourselves and to grow in ways that feel authentic.

Every tree grows differently. There is no single way you are supposed to be. The invitation is not to become another tree, but to create the conditions that allow you to grow more fully into who you already are.

MEET AURORA

A little about the person behind the counselling room.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working in engineering and program leadership in the semiconductor industry. It was a world shaped by high standards, responsibility, problem-solving, and the constant drive to do things well.

Over time, my curiosity increasingly turned from understanding systems and processes to understanding people — how our experiences shape us, why we respond in the ways we do, and what helps meaningful change become possible.

My own journey has taught me that growth does not always come from trying harder or becoming better. Sometimes, it begins when we slow down enough to listen to ourselves with greater curiosity and compassion.

This is the spirit I bring into the counselling room: a space where you do not have to perform, have everything figured out, or become someone else. We can begin with where you are.

Curious about people, growth, and the many ways we find our way back to ourselves.
